July tends to be a slower month for new true crime releases, and this year holds to that pattern. The lineup is lighter than usual, but there are still a few new cases, fresh perspectives, and unsettling stories worth noting. From familiar faces to long-standing mysteries, these are the titles making their way to screens this month. Whether you’re in binge mode or just checking in, here’s what’s on the radar.

This series features individuals long suspected of serious crimes who agree to take a professionally administered polygraph test in hopes of clearing their names.


Hosted by investigative journalist Tony Harris, the show blends criminal justice reporting with expert analysis from former FBI agent and veteran examiner George Olivo.

The premiere episode investigates the 2010 death of actor Gary Coleman, with his ex-wife Shannon Price stepping forward to take a lie detector test that aims to address years of public suspicion.


Other episodes feature cases involving acquitted or uncharged individuals seeking resolution through polygraph results, including Matheau Moore, Edward Ates, and Jesse Holton. One Night in Idaho: The College Murders

A Killer Among Friends

Platform: Investigation Discovery


Narrated and executive produced by Jennifer Love Hewitt, this series explores six real cases where friendship turned fatal. Each episode focuses on a different group of close-knit individuals shattered by betrayal, suspicion, and ultimately, murder.


The series opens with the 1994 killing of college football player Trent DiGiuro during a birthday celebration with friends. Other episodes include the case of Jessie Blodgett, a high school theater student murdered after a cast party, and Elyse Pahler, a California teen whose classmates became suspects in her disappearance. The series also investigates the kidnapping and murder of Maryann Measles, the deadly Las Vegas trip that ended in the death of Michele Carson, and Ron Baker’s murder in a train tunnel with links to the Manson family’s dark legacy.

Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit

Release Date: July 15, 2025

No of Episodes: 3-part docuseries

Platform: Hulu


This docuseries explores the 1995 disappearance of Iowa news anchor Jodi Huisentruit, who vanished on the morning of June 27 just before heading to work at KIMT-TV. Her personal items were found scattered outside her apartment, pointing to a likely abduction.


The series follows the Mason City Police Department’s current investigation, sparked by a tip revealed in a 2022 20/20 episode. With exclusive access to new leads and the lead detective’s efforts, the series traces developments that include newly identified persons of interest.


Released as the 30th anniversary of Jodi’s disappearance approaches, the series aims to serve both as a comprehensive case file and a tribute. One longtime person of interest, John Vansice, was officially cleared after a search warrant connected to him was unsealed following his death.

Amy Bradley Is Missing

This docuseries revisits the 1998 disappearance of Amy Lynn Bradley, a 23-year-old woman who vanished without a trace while on a Caribbean cruise with her family. The Furry Detectives: Unmasking A Monster

Produced by Dick Wolf and 44 Blue Productions, the series highlights the daily work of officers who call the city home and are committed to protecting it. The show airs weekly on Thursdays and continues to document how evidence, witness interviews, and instinct converge in pursuit of justice.
