As Bishop's influence deepened, his role shifted from spiritual guide to self-proclaimed messiah, and Carbon Nation became a tightly controlled environment defined by coercion, manipulation, and escalating violence. When former members came forward with allegations of abuse, Bishop found himself at the center of one of the more complex cult cases in recent American history.
The four-part docuseries draws on firsthand testimony from former members and victims, commentary from online investigators who tracked the group in real time, and extensive footage recorded by Carbon Nation's own members, offering a rare look at a cult that operated not in obscurity but in plain sight.
