Updated: 2 hours ago

Dark scene with a silhouette standing under a "Hotel" sign. Text reads "THE WEEKLY DROP: New True Crime Releases March 16-22, 2026."

Welcome back, couch detectives.

The Weekly Drop tracks every new true crime show and documentary scheduled for March 16–22, 2026, with airtimes, platforms, and release dates organized in one place so you can build your watchlist without digging through four different apps and a network website that hasn’t been updated since Tuesday.

This week brings the Season 2 premiere of Live PD: Greatest Shifts along with a handful of continuing series and broadcast episodes. The calendar is a little lighter than usual as several shows wind down their current seasons, but the case file still has plenty worth logging.

New docuseries, ongoing investigations, one-off specials, and broadcast episodes are all tracked here as they hit the calendar. Every entry is verified against network listings, streaming schedules, and official announcements before it goes into the file.

If the record saves you time each week, Buying the Sleuth a Coffee is one way some readers choose to support the research behind it.

Note: Schedules shift and networks update listings without warning. If something has changed or something slipped past the radar, drop it in the comments so it can be added to the record.

Court TV continues coverage of the Kouri Richins murder trial this week as proceedings move deeper into the case.

Kouri Richins, 35, is charged with aggravated murder in the March 4, 2022 death of her husband, Eric Richins, who was found dead in the couple’s Park City bedroom. Prosecutors allege Richins poisoned him with a lethal dose of illicit fentanyl by spiking his cocktail, following an earlier failed attempt two weeks prior in which she allegedly served him a sandwich laced with fentanyl on Valentine’s Day. An autopsy determined Eric Richins died from fentanyl intoxication, with levels approximately five times the lethal dose. Prosecutors have argued financial motive, alleging Richins was facing significant debt and had fraudulently secured a life insurance policy prior to her husband’s death. Richins has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody after bail was denied.

For a day-by-day breakdown of the trial, Court TV provides a running coverage guide here.
